I am doing sonification of large CV based data sets, using Gatekeeper (GK) to parse the data, and creating envelope presets with through composed features that do not loop.
-
If I use a single envelope preset to parse the data, it appears that the GK node limit is approx 1000 nodes per envelope. I see this limit when using GK in Cubase Pro 14 or Bitwig Studio 5, with both VST2 and VST3 so it is consistent. Current system is ASUS B350M, AMD Ryzen 7 5700X, 32 GB of DDR4, 3200 MHz, Win 10.
-
Assuming that my observation is correct, could this node limit be expanded in some future update?
The node limit may have been a real constraint related to the capabilities of the hardware/software resources available when the original design was developed, but possibly it was an arbitrary choice. -
Last GK update was about 4 yrs ago, v 1.3.13 was released 25 May 2021.

As a workaround, I have used automation (in Plogue Bidule) to enable loading envelope presets using a list that reflects the index location of the preset in the database, but workflow would be a bit easier without resorting to that solution.
Thank you for sharing your story and sending the feature suggestions.
For now, your current workaround seems to be the best option.
