While Gatekeeper is super cool as an audio gate, I use it way more as a midi control for other things like Filterverse. though the fact that it’s built to db scale for audio envelopes makes it imperfect for how I really want to use it.
while it’s probably beyond the window of getting updated at this point, I have to say, now that Filterverse works as a synth, adding a horizontal grid to gatekeeper that could be split to multiples of 12 or whatever(like the lfo controls of Vital/serum etc) would vastly improve Gatekeeper’s functionality as a sequencer, especially in conjunction with Filterverse. I doubt that I need to elaborate much on how much better they could work together, or what a boost that would be to Gatekeeper’s usefulness in a huge variety of cases. essentially the lfo control of Vital/serum in a standalone plugin to work with anything
I’m actually a bit surprised that this wasn’t part of the original design, but I wasn’t working in the box back then so don’t know what the demand was for something like that at the time.
yeah lfo controllers exist, but Gatekeeper could be so much better!
anyway, here’s hoping the devs see this and get thinking the same, fingers crossed…
btw if anyone knows anything that I’m missing, and this is easier to work around than I realize, please let me know
